After the first selection, the Egyptian partner Alexandria Business Association (ABA) has encouraged more young business leaders to apply and join GIMED’s project, by extending the deadline of their call for entrepreneurs. The call for entrepreneurs with a green and sustainable idea is still open in the regions of Alexandria, Mansoura, Beheira, Damietta, Kafr el Sheikh and other Mediterranean locations in the country.

“Any business or start-up in any field can go green. In fact, it must, because going green means boosting efficiency”, states Sherif El Diwany, Economic & Business Environment Reform Advisor from the Egyptian partner. In this sense, there is a new series of business opportunities to access finance and sign contracts with large companies to kick off start-ups and make green ideas come true.

In this call, green entrepreneurs have two options for their applications:

GIMED is an EU-funded project under the ENI CBC MED Programme that supports entrepreneurs who have an eco-friendly innovative idea, products or services to finance and compete in the market. The most innovative 4 ideas and 4 startups that complete the training and coaching course will be recognized as a Green Innovation Pioneer and benefit from a Euro 7500 grant each.

You can apply to the second call before on the GimedEgypt platform. The deadline to apply for this call is extended until the 12th of May.
