Last 14th of December 2020, Co-Evolve4BG attended the first day of the online workshop titled "Designing the future system of observing systems to assess and address threats to the Mediterranean marine ecosystem - State-of-the-art, needs and future direction”, organised by the Interreg MED funded SHAREMED project (Sharing and Enhancing Capabilities to Address Environmental Threats in the Mediterranean Sea).

SHAREMED project focuses on increasing the capabilities to assess and address hazards related to pollution and environmental threats in Mediterranean transnational waters. This goal will be achieved by sharing knowledge, observations and technologies as well as building common frameworks, tools and services to assess and possibly forecast impacts of environmental threats to the marine ecosystems. Different sites will follow a common procedure but can focus on different aspects and environmental threats, depending on the site and size specificity.

The event aimed at sharing, among the representatives of multiple European projects, how they are observing the marine environment and how they are tackling and addressing the main environmental threats in the Mediterranean. The workshop gathered over 200 participants

The Institute National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM), the lead beneficiary of Co-Evolve4BG project presented the objectives, activities and expected results of the project. The presentation focused on how Co-Evolve4BG analyse impacts (Threats) and opportunities (Enabling factors) for sustainable tourism and multiple use of coastal maritime factors.

The seminar was a great opportunity to exchange and build new synergies with other initiatives.
