GreenBuilding project promotes the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures in public buildings since renewable energies represent a natural competitive advantage for the Mediterranean. The project will support 3 cost-effective public buildings energy refurbishment in Greece, Tunisia and Jordan. One of the energy refurbishments will take place at the Institute Mohamed Kassab of Orthopedics.

The Institute Mohamed Kassab of Orthopedics is a public health establishment created in 1971 by Dr Mohamed taieb Kassab.

The building is located in Manouba, Tunisia. BorjCedria Technopark Management Company is responsible for this pilot case.

It operates 24 hours/day with 278 beds (capacity) for patients. 

The building has four surgeries, one radiology, two laboratories, one outpatient department, one emergency room, seven hospitalization services departments-clinics, room of administrative services. 

Building users: employees and patients

Number of employees: 768 persons

-The number of consultations is estimated at 140500 patient/year
-The number of admissions is estimated at 7400 patient
-The occupied area is 16180.7 m² (ground floor and 1st floor)
