Économie bleue: le projet HELIOS construit un réseau avec les principaux acteurs du secteur en Tunisie

The HELIOS project participated in the Blue Economy forum held in Gabès, Tunisia from 10th to 12th January 2020. The event was organized by the World Wildlife Fund "WWF" North Africa office in Tunisia, in partnership with HELIOS project partner the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) and the Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (CONECT).

The event was an unique occasion to create bilateral relations with key actors of the blue economy sector in Tunisia, including 20 NGOs, 4 training centers and 15 public and private institutions. In addition, operational contacts with the MEDUSA project, another initiative funded under the ENI CBC Med Programme and focused on the development of adventure tourism, were established and potential synergies were discussed. 

In particular, HELIOS held a stand in order to disseminate information about the objectives and opprutnties of the proejct for young people and women and contgrinuted to the "Panda Talk" on ways to fight plastic pollution. In recognition of the valuable participation of the HELIOS project in the forum, Mr. Salah Hdidar, the UTAP project manager, was honored by WWF.
