Thanks to its 820 km long coastline, Puglia region is characterized by a very varied territory: from crystal clear water and white sand beaches to stretches of rocky coast full of gorges and caves. This is why the Apulian territory offers kayaking or snorkeling experiences around its coastal caves to the discovery of marine biology. Among the most popular destinations, there are Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, two Apulian pearls on the Adricatic coast. Dozens of sandy beaches line Monopoli's 13 km coast, which, with its hidden coves, charming ravines, and gentle cliffs, has been awarded the Blue Flag in recognition of its clean waters and excellent services. Beaches not to miss include Cala di Torre Incina, with its homonymous 16th-century tower, and the Beach of Santo Stefano. Polignano a Mare's coastline, with its many caves and hidden inlets, has regularly been awarded Blue Flag recognition. At San Vito, in a small bay framed by low-lying rocks and overlooked by a Benedictine Abbey, Cala Paura is a gem, a small white-pebble beach hidden between two cliffs. At the foot of the cliff on which the town is perched, is a breathtaking sea cave known as the Grotta Palazzese.

This area offers spectacular scenarios, ravines rich in marine life, wild coves and hidden caves. Several types of kayaks are available for marine excursions accompanied by environmental guides, marine biologists and snorkeling instructors. During the excursions, it’s possible to admire amazing seabeds, and they usually include basic briefings on kayaks and snorkeling.
