The AQUACYCLE Partnership extends its congratulations to Omar Nachar who forms part of the Lebanese University team for his successful application to participate in the UNDP-Youth Leadership Programme (YLP7).

The YLP Lebanon Team informed Omar that through this selection he will be

part of a talented and diverse cohort of outstanding individuals in the community who are willing to work towards a better and more sustainable future.

To mark this celebration, we invited Omar to introduce himself:

I am Omar Nachar, Civil Engineer. I graduated from Beirut Arab University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree In Civil Engineering. Throughout my university years, I always had a great interest in the environment and the sustainability of economic growth. I am very happy to be part of the Lebanese University team in AQUACYCLE , which brings a real opportunity for me to further my knowledge. Through this project, we are developing a prototype for eco-innovative wastewater treatment. While this should help us to address Lebanon’s poor record in the water and sanitation sector, we also aspire to lift Lebanon’s economy through increased employment opportunities and safeguard the environment.

By joining the UNDP Youth Leadership Programme, I look forward to further improve on my communication skills, efficient planning strategies and time management. As a citizen of Lebanon, I wish to give my utmost for my country and its people.
