Egypt: GIMED opens a new call for applications to select green entrepreneurs

Alexandria Business Association, the Egyptian partner within the GIMED project, has launched a new call for applications to select a new cohort of green entrepreneurs. Under the name of Green Future Round, this opportunity is seeking entrepreneurs in Egypt who are able to develop their businesses through green model innovations. In this sense, the call is open to young entrepreneurs and start-ups whose age don’t exceed 5 years. 

Ideally, entrepreneurs who apply should be between 20 and 35 years old. In terms of eligibility, applicants from the following governorates will be eligible: Alexandria, Port Said, Ismailia, Kafr ElSheikh, Beheira, Sharketa, Damietta, Dakahlia and Marsa Matrouh. 

GIMED will offer one-to-one coaching sessions with experts in green business plans and also support in developing marketing and promotion plans for products and services. In the coaching sessions there will also be preparation for access to finance and events for start-ups to present and pitch their investment proposals to investors and network with other start-ups from Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine and Italy. 

There will also be grants for the best 4 selected ideas and 4 selected start-ups, amounting up to 7.500€ each. The application period will be open until the 15th of August 2021. Submission forms both for ideas and start-ups are ready.
