On the 4th of March STAND Up! launched a web conference aiming to promote the ‘Call for entrepreneurs’ designed to deliver support training on circular business model development and other business development activities addressed to eco-innovative businesses in the Mediterranean within the fashion and textile industry.

The opening contribution by Valeria Cibrario, Senior Expert at ENI CBC MED Joint Technical Secretariat, illustrated how the EU supports in launching sustainable projects in the Mediterranean and how the ENI CBC MED projects are organized, their thematic and objectives and the legal status of organizations involved. 

As Sustainability Manager and Expert at TEXFOR, Mr David Allos presentation explained the latest European circular economy trends and business opportunities, highlighting potential solutions to tackle textile sector waste and make the most of energy efficiency with very significant examples. 

The strength and creativity of the new circular and sustainable start-ups were represented by ID EIGHT, the Italian-based sneakers brand with a refined and a sustainable design. Its founder Mr. Dong Seon Lee illustrated how their products made from pineapple leaves and grape and apple leather are products that combine trends and eco-innovation. 

Finally, Krystel Khalil, Lab Director at BERYTECH introduced and informed about the business support services, building incubation, support vouchers and investment readiness provided by the STAND Up! Accelerator. Detailed information was provided on the current 'Call for entrepreneurs to develop circular business models.
