The Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer is engaged in the COMMONproject​ in the implementation of scientific​ and research​ activities, but also contributes effectively to the dissemination of its values ​​in Tunisia​, such as the fight against marinelitter​ and the awareness of better management of waste, in line with the health of our waters​

COMMON (COastal Management and Monitoring Network for tackling marine litter in Mediterranean sea) is a project funded by European Union under ENI CBC Med Programme that involves Italy, Lebanon and Tunisia with the aim of protecting the coasts of the Mediterranean from the marine litter through a sustainable management.
