CROSSDEV: حملة تنظيف في العقبة، الأردن

 المحتوى متاح باللغة الإنجليزية

On the occasion of His Majesty, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein birthday, and 100 years since the founding of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, CROSSDEV partner The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) will carry out a clean-up campaign at Al-Mamlah Bay (Aqaba Gulf) on the 31st of January 2021.

The campaign will be jointly carried out by JREDS, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) – associated partner of CROSSDEV –, the Movenpick Tala Bay Hotel and a number of volunteers that are constantly involved in our project’s activities through JREDS.

The event will help us increase the awareness and the concept of social responsibility towards heritage, civilization and environment, and will strengthen the bonds among participants.

Every year, tourists from all over the world visit Aqaba to see the biodiversity of its coral reef and its colourful marine life. Yet, the beauty of the Gulf is often ruined by litters on the beach, which not only impact the image of the place but may reach the depth of the sea, ruining its deep life.

For sustainable tourism, there is no plan B. We all must work to keep the oceans clean and preserve marine life.

The 31 January event is part of a long campaign aimed to ensure environmental sustainability, to promote eco-tourism and to engage volunteers in taking part to their local community’s activities.

When: 31st Jan 2021, between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Where: Al Mamlah site – Movenpick Tala bay Resort
