The Tourism Agency of Lazio Region in collaboration with the Circeo National Park and Department of Architecture of the University of Roma Tre, in the framework of the European Union - ENI CBC MED funded project Co-Evolve4BG, organised an infoday last 10^th of November.  The virtual meeting introduced the objectives and actions to be implemented at local level by Co-Evolve4BG.

The meeting was divided into two parts: the first more general where the collaborative governance model of the Pontine territory was presented with interventions on the Coevolve4BG project and the interactions and synergies with Tune up and Coasting projects and the ECTS (Europea Charter for Sustainable Tourism) certification process in protected areas by the Circeo National Park were also introduced. In the second part of the session the challenges and opportunities for the Pontine territory were highlighted thought the testimonies of main stakeholders including the Circeo National Park representatives, some local administrators, tour operators and environmental associations.

A particular focus was dedicated to the Circeo National Park and MAB Unesco Nature Reserve which include also the island agricultural areas, the coastal dune and the Circeo promontory. This meeting aimed to identify local stakeholders, administrators and economic activities through a participatory process. Starting from the good practices of the area, the project will develop an action plan and innovative solutions to promote sustainable tourism and BlueGrowth.

The analysis and demonstration actions planned at local level have the objective of enhancing sustainable development and fully exploiting the Blue Economy potential, promoting the creation of business and job opportunities in the field of ecosystem-oriented services, coastal and maritime tourism, coastal and marine management and adaptation to climate change.

Another important topic discussed was the strong impact caused by the Covid emergency on the tourism sector and also how sustainable tourism is a model of resilience and one of the increasingly central elements for European Union and national and local policies.

The meeting was attended by key-stakeholders, representatives from national, regional and local institutions, public authorities, tour operators,  environmental and consumer associations and agro-food organizations.
