The first IPMED awareness session was held virtually last week using Zoom Platform by Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Greek partner.

The main aim of conducting the awareness session is to strengthen Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) related knowledge and awareness, facilitate access to them, and enhance commercialization

19 representatives of start-ups, MSMEs, young and women entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce, local development agencies and universities attended the online session.

Mr. Antonios Boumpoulas, the chamber's head of studies and research, explained to the audience IPMED's mission, along with its activities.

A presentation about the secrets of industrial property rights (patents–industrial designs) was made by Mr. Georgios Asimopoulos representative of the Thessaloniki Office of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization.

IPMED project is implemented by a consortium of organizations where JEDCO of Jordan is the leader, and in partnership with Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Greece, FILSE in Italy, Agora Institute in Spain and Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tunisia. . The project's budget is 1.194 million euros, funded by the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme for the Mediterranean Basin within the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI CBCMED), to develop small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), promote economic and social development and support innovative entrepreneurs’ projects.
